This week’s carnvial is taking a different turn as our listing that requests submissions got lost in cyberspace. Instead of submissions, this week we are going to become a traveling carnival and visit some great eldercare blogs around the Internet.
Next week, we hope you will join us with your eldercare blogs and if you have any holiday stories, we’d love to hear them and post them here. For example, how have your holidays changed as your parents have aged. Have you made adjustments?

As you know, there have been free memory screenings across the U.S. and Canada in conjunction with November being Alzheimer’s Month.
Those who may not have had a chance to take advantage of the screenings at sites near their home, may be able to get a free phone screening as well as a free follow up home visit by a professional geriatric care manager.
Scientists are making great strides in identifying potential new interventions to diagnose, slow, prevent, treat, and someday cure Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Currently, more than 90 drugs are in clinical trials for AD, and more are in the pipeline.
The CAREPAC program (Community Alzheimer’s Research Education for Patients and Caregivers) has been developed as a pilot program to support and educate people who are experiencing signs of memory loss that may be related to Alzheimer’s disease.
Those interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s clinical trials, can be contacted by a Geriatric Care Manager who will assess the AD patient/ family caregiver situation and discuss the available options that are open to partcipate in clinical trials near their community .
Interested family members may contact the CAREPAC program today at 800-735-4265 to find out how to join the fight against alzheimer’s disease by participating in an ongoing research study in their community.
CAREPAC helps the elderly person and their family, learn more about the details involved in participating in a clinical trial from trained nurses and social workers who can help to find a nearby research site thay may be qualified for.
