I’d encourage friends and families of people affected by macular degeneration to aggressively seek out resources for the visually impaired to help the affected person. When it reaches the stage where vision is dramatically impaired, a person’s world can get very small without the help and encouragement of people who love them.

Thanks for a great article. I’ve had a couple of senior friends who have had to deal with macular degeneration and this article helped explain things a bit better than one of their doctor’s did. I really appreciate it and will definitely bookmark it.
