Septemeber 3, 2009 EldercareABC Blog Carnival

Welcome to the September 3, 2009 Eldercare Blog Carnival

sunset

Almost 22 million U.S. households care for a family member over 50 that is disabled or ill.  As the boomer generation ages, so will the number of households offering care. Thankfully, we live in a time where there are new innovations that can make this labor of love easier.   TheEldergadget.com blog often participates in the EldercareABC Blog Carnival and I hope you will visit there often to read reviews of many of the latest elder gadgets.

Speaking of reviews, I am presently trying out a phone that is on loan to my family from  Assistive Technology Services. The phone allows you to program in specific phone numbers, including 911 or your local emergency number and comes with a pendent. It also comes with a pendent that can be worn.  The nifty part is that it does not require a service to work.

Derrick Grant presents Download the “Caring for a Person with Alzheimer’s Disease” Guide for Caregivers, Professionals and Support Groups posted at ElderGuru.com.

Daniel presents Elderly Care - 68% of families opt for elderly care homes posted at Phones for Elderly.

Mary presents 10 Senior AssistanceTips posted at Eldercare on Hubpages, saying, "Tips for helping seniors"

Joy presents Forgiveness and Practicing Peace on Earth Part II posted at Elder Care ABC.

Mary Beth. presents Mean Girls at the Senior Center A New Frontier for Bullies posted at Elder Care ABC.

Mary Jane presents Extra Eldercare Help for Prescription Drugs posted at Elder Care ABC.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of eldercareabc carnival using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
