I think the first thing to do is to understand any chronic health issues a senior might have, research it, and determine what kinds of health care needs a senior might have, i.e., mobility or transportation issues. It is so important to have power of attorney and to understand your parent's wishes regarding DNR orders. This is a huge issue in elder care.
