This was a well written, informative article. I am very involved in elder care issues–no longer my own as both of my parents have now passed, but this article broadened my base as far as helping others to be prepared for what caught me completely unprepared in my situation.

Enjoyed the link to sibling rivalry. I am one of 4 children and the burden of taking care of my father the last 4 years has fallen on me since I live in the same town. One sister severed all ties with my dad at 23, my brother lives 10 hours away, & my lawyer sister lived 24 hours away. I feel lucky that my business allows me more time than them to take take care of my father and his five acre house BUT I the care of my father has also put additional stress on my martial relationship and that of my 4 kids. My other siblings have 0,1,2 and children. I have the most on my plate and still get to deal with everything for my dad. Once you understand that life isn’t fair it makes it easier.
